KOTRA, or the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, is an organization established in 1962 to promote South Korea’s economic development. It has evolved over the years, taking on various roles such as trade promotion, foreign investment support, and international business cooperation. In recent years, KOTRA has also played a significant role in advancing South Korea’s involvement in the development of smart cities, showcasing its commitment to innovative urban solutions and sustainable development. KOTRA’s organizational reach is extensive, with 10 regional headquarters and 127 Overseas Trade Centers spanning across 84 countries. This international network facilitates global business connections and supports South Korea’s global trade interests. In South Korea, KOTRA operates 12 KOTRA Support Centers and 1 Airport office, enhancing its role in supporting domestic and international trade and investment activities while contributing to the growth of the national economy.
